Sales Engineer

North America

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing: Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies that target key accounts and drive growth. Help identify opportunities, create tailored solutions, and support customers from initial inquiry through to successful deployment of our data center automation platform. 

  • Solution Design & Implementation: Lead the discovery and design of integrated solutions that improve the efficiency, scalability, and security of data center operations. Work with customers to understand their unique needs and propose solutions that make use of orchestration, workload automation, cloud technologies, and AI. 

  • Technical Presentations & Demos: Deliver clear, compelling product demonstrations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Show how MetalSoft’s software can transform data center operations and solve key business challenges. 

  • Pre-Sales Support: Provide technical expertise during the sales cycle, helping prospects and partners understand the benefits of automation solutions. Support the sales team in responding to technical queries, reviewing customer requirements, and providing the necessary product guidance to close deals. 

  • Consultative Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them navigate the complexities of automating their data center infrastructure. Work closely with their IT and operations teams to propose the most effective solutions and demonstrate clear ROI. 

  • Partner & Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal teams. Act as a go-to technical resource for customers throughout the sales cycle and ensure they are fully supported before, during, and after deployment. 

  • Market & Product Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in data center automation, including advances in orchestration, AI-driven automation, and cloud technologies. Provide valuable insights on how customers can leverage automation to solve their unique challenges. 

  • Create Technical Content: Work with marketing teams to produce helpful technical resources, such as blog posts, case studies, and webinars, to help customers understand how our automation solutions can improve their operations. 

  • Opportunity Qualification: Evaluate and qualify sales opportunities by understanding customer needs, budget, and the decision-making process. Provide support to both the sales and technical teams to ensure opportunities are fully addressed and optimized. 

What We Are Looking For: 

  • Experience in Data Center Automation: Strong understanding of data center operations and hands-on experience with automation technologies (such as orchestration, workload automation, AI-driven processes, or cloud technologies) that streamline infrastructure management. 

  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of automation tools, AI, containers, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and virtualization technologies. Experience in implementing automation solutions in real-world environments is a plus. 

  • Solution-Oriented: Ability to analyze customer requirements and design solutions that solve specific challenges in managing data center workloads, improving performance, and reducing manual overhead. 

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. Comfort with presenting to both technical teams and decision-makers, with the goal of demonstrating clear value from automation solutions. 

  • Customer-Focused: Strong ability to build relationships with customers and partners and work with them through the entire sales process, from initial inquiry to post-sale support. A focus on customer success is key. 

  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset, working effectively with internal teams, partners, and customers to deliver successful automation solutions. 

Experience / Education: 

  • Experience: The role typically requires 8 years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering, ideally with a background in data center automation, cloud technologies, or infrastructure management. 

  • Education: A 4-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience. Industry certifications in cloud technologies, automation tools, or infrastructure management (e.g., AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Ansible) are beneficial. 

    Work Arrangement: Fully Remote with domestic and international travel when required.
